Applications: Including gold and silver threads for obi kimono sash and kijaku kimono fabric
Mitsubishi Shindoh vapor-deposits silver on to polyester film, slices the silver-coated film into strips with a microslitter, and then twists these strips around a cotton wick to create a high-grade silver thread quite different from aluminum thread. Gold thread is made by adding a pigment to the silver. Real gold thread is also available, for a truly deluxe application. The Company also offers metallized products made with metals other than gold and silver or with metal alloys to match the desired application.
